Wyoming Technical Educators Association
WTEA is a diverse and active division representing educators across a wide range of skilled trades and technical fields, including machining, automotive, welding, woodworking, construction, and more. Our members are dedicated to preparing students for success in high-demand careers through hands-on, industry-aligned instruction. We work to promote the value of skilled trades in Wyoming’s economy and support professional development, advocacy, and networking opportunities for educators at all levels.

Jacob Ramey
High School Automotive Teacher
My name is Jacob Ramey, and I’m from Gillette, Wyoming. I have been teaching automotive since 2014, and I truly enjoy working with students and helping them develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to be successful. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Technical Education from the University of Wyoming, which helped prepare me for a career in technical education and gave me the opportunity to combine my passion for the automotive industry with teaching.
I also serve as a SkillsUSA advisor, where I enjoy helping students develop their technical skills, leadership abilities, and work ethic. Being able to watch students learn new skills, overcome challenges, and pursue careers they are passionate about is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time outdoors camping, hiking, and fishing. I also have a strong passion for cars and enjoy building, repairing, and working on them in my free time. Whether I’m in the classroom, in the shop, or outdoors, I enjoy working with my hands, learning new things, and sharing what I’ve learned with others.
