Wyoming New and Related Services

WNRS serves as a hub for professionals working in either specialized or emerging fields of Career and Technical Education (CTE). This division is comprised of individuals from areas that don’t necessarily fit within traditional CTE divisions but span multiple divisions, such as counseling, administration, and instructional support.
The growth of Wyoming’s CTE programs, pathways, and workforce relies on the strong partnerships we build with counselors and administrators. They play an integral role in creating robust CTE pathways and ensuring that students are aware of and have access to diverse CTE opportunities. Their support helps our programs grow and thrive, benefiting our students and our state's workforce.

President

Shawna Trujillo

Perkins Coordinator, Casper College

Shawna Trujillo brings 32 years of experience in education, including seven years as a middle school educator and 21 years in educational administration at the district and high school levels. Her leadership experience includes serving as a high school principal and district administrator, with a focus on instructional leadership, program development, student success, and community partnerships.

For the past four years, Shawna has served as the Perkins Coordinator at Casper College, where she leads Perkins V initiatives and supports Career and Technical Education programs across the college. She works collaboratively with faculty, administrators, industry partners, and community stakeholders to strengthen CTE pathways and align educational opportunities with Wyoming's workforce needs.

Shawna has a strong passion for Career and Technical Education and its role in preparing students for high-demand careers, further education, and successful futures. In recognition of her leadership and contributions to CTE, she was named the Wyoming Department of Education's Perkins Coordinator of the Year in 2025.

Shawna is committed to advancing high-quality CTE opportunities throughout Wyoming and supporting partnerships that strengthen both student success and the state's workforce.
