Elizabeth is a dedicated educator with over 12 years of experience in education, including seven years in elementary classrooms and four years as a Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) clothing and textiles teacher. This is her second year as WATFACS President. She currently serves as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) with Natrona County School District (NCSD), where she supports students who are blind or visually impaired. Elizabeth remains actively involved in FCS and is passionate about helping all CTE teachers implement meaningful accommodations so that all students can fully access hands-on learning experiences. Her teaching is enriched by more than two decades of hands-on sewing experience, including owning and operating her own sewing business. She is a proud alumna of the University of Wyoming and earned her Master of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

With the support of colleagues, Elizabeth designed and launched an upholstery class at Pathways Innovation Center in Casper. The onset of this program earned WACTE’s Innovative Program of the Year award. She has also served as an FCCLA chapter advisor, leading the first chapter at Natrona County High School.

A lifelong Wyoming resident, Elizabeth treasures her connection to the state’s natural beauty and traditions. She is an avid outdoorswoman who enjoys summer adventures, camping, and riding dirt bikes through the Snowy Range with her son. Elizabeth also loves to travel, sew, and spend quality time with her family.

Rachel has been an educator in Cheyenne for four years. She loves teaching her Family and Consumer Science classes and currently teaches Culinary I and Housing and Interior Design at Central High School in Cheyenne, Wyoming. In previous years, she has also enjoyed teaching sewing and early childhood education.

Rachel graduated from Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska, where she played basketball, served as a Resident Advisor, and earned her bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Science Education. She grew up in a small town nearby—Newcastle, Wyoming—alongside her seven siblings and many animals.

Rachel is excited to be the WATFACS President-Elect because of her love for traveling and connecting with others. She looks forward to spreading positivity and supporting Family and Consumer Sciences educators throughout Wyoming.

Laura Stadtfeld is a dedicated Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) educator currently teaching at Casper Classical Academy in Casper, Wyoming, where she brings passion, real-world relevance, and student-centered learning to her classroom. She has served as an FCS teacher in Natrona County School District since 2015 and is also an active FCCLA advisor, supporting student leadership and career development.

Laura’s career reflects a deep commitment to children, families, and community. Her professional background includes leadership roles in early childhood education, advocacy, and training, as well as prior service as Executive Director for Providers Empowering Providers and many years as a preschool and childcare director. She also proudly served in the United States Navy earlier in her career, an experience that helped shape her leadership and work ethic.

She holds multiple advanced degrees in education, including master’s degrees in Career and Technical Education and Curriculum & Instruction, as well as certification in Educational Leadership. Her strengths include collaboration, creative problem-solving, project-based learning, and building meaningful relationships with students and colleagues.

As Secretary/Treasurer for WATFACS, Laura is proud to support and advocate for high-quality Family and Consumer Sciences education across Wyoming. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys interior design, writing, volunteering, traveling, hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing, and spending time with her pets. She is energized by lifelong learning and believes strongly in the power of education to strengthen individuals, families, and communities.
